Privacy notice
Last updated: 12 September 2026
This explains what I do with your information when you contact me about a website. I keep it short because I collect very little.
Who I am
Built by Zac is the trading name of Zac Sladden, a sole trader in Kent. I decide how your information is used, which makes me the data controller. You can reach me at zac@builtbyzac.ai.
What I collect
Only what you send me. When you email, call or message about a project, that is usually your name, your business name, your contact details and whatever you tell me about the work you want.
This website sets no cookies. There is no analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording and no tracking of any kind. My web host keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, to keep the site online and secure.
Why I use it
- to reply to your enquiry and talk through what you need, at your request and before any contract;
- to quote for, deliver and manage a project once you go ahead, under our contract;
- to keep business and tax records, because the law requires it.
I do not send marketing emails and I do not sell or share your details for anyone else's marketing.
Who else sees it
Only the services I need to run the business: my email provider, my web host, my accountant, and WhatsApp if you choose to message me that way. Each handles your information under its own terms. I share information beyond that only where the law requires it.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that do not turn into projects are deleted within 12 months. Client project and financial records are kept for six years, which is the period tax law expects.
Your rights
You can ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, or ask me to correct it, delete it, restrict it, or stop using it. Just email zac@builtbyzac.ai and I will respond within a month.
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If I change how I use your information, I will update this page and change the date at the top.
